The scent of beeswax and the glow of layered color fill Peace Gallery North as artist Irene Gut’s exhibit ‘From the Beehive to the Canvas’ is currently on display here in the North Peace. Gut’s exhibit is based around encaustic art, essentially painting with damar resin and molten beeswax, creating layers of color while adding texture that feels alive through every stroke. “A huge thank you to everyone who came out to my art show opening on Friday night,” said Gut on Facebook

The people of Fort St. John came together on Monday, November 11, to participate in Remembrance Day an attend the parade and ceremony. Multiple suspects have been arrested in relation to the Halloween arson and gunfire at a nightclub in Fort St. John. A 37-year-old male was recently located by RCMP in a ditch in Baldonnel, BC, after being badly beaten and dumped in a ditch. The Fort St. John police received a report on October 16, shortly before 8 am, claiming a male was lying in a ditch along the 238 Road close to the 253 Road in Baldonnel. The BC Hydro Peace Agricultural Compensation Fund (Ag Fund) has announced $1 million in new grants to support two projects aimed at strengthening farming operations across the Peace region.
