Thanks to Tourmaline the North Peace can enjoy free community swim days throughout 2025.

Canada’s largest natural gas producer is proud to sponsor Free Community Swim Days at the North Peace Leisure Pool in Fort St. John so residents can swim for free every Sunday from 1 to 5pm all year round.

“As a company and individuals, we are proud to call Fort St. John home and be contributing members to this community,” said Talese Shilleto, Director of Indigenous and Community Relations at Tourmaline. “Sponsoring free swim days aligns with Tourmaline's goal to empower kids and families to live healthy, active lives, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the pool!”

Tourmaline's dedication to supporting the communities and promoting wellness where its employees live and work is evident with initiatives such as this. The company hopes to bring people together to enjoy fun activities, stay active, and build connections by covering the admission costs

"We are incredibly grateful to Tourmaline for their generous sponsorship of Free Community Swim at the North Peace Leisure Pool,” said Mayor Lilia Hansen. “This initiative not only promotes physical health and wellness, but also strengthens the sense of community here in Fort St. John. It’s wonderful to see local organizations like Tourmaline step up and support our residents in such a meaningful way, and we look forward to seeing families come together to enjoy this great opportunity."

The North Peace Leisure Pool is owned by the PRRD and operated by the City of Fort St. John, which includes a shallow entry at one end and a deepest point of 1.5 meters (five feet) at the opposite end. It also features waves, a rapid channel, and spray water elements according to the City’s website.

Tourmaline welcomes the Fort St. John community and nearby areas to enjoy Free Community Swim Days every Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
