A 37-year-old Fort St. John man was arrested after RCMP executed a search warrant on 105 Avenue June 18 as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

According to police, members of the Fort St. John Street Enforcement Team uncovered what they describe as a 3D-printed firearm manufacturing operation during the search.
RCMP say roughly 20 firearms were found, some completed and others still being assembled.
Sergeant Ian Rissanen, commander of the Fort St John RCMP Plainclothes Unit stated in a media release, “The Fort St John RCMP Street Enforcement Team, with assistance from Serious Crime and Frontline RCMP members, were able to safely execute this Search Warrant that effectively dismantled a home firearm manufacturing operation. Since the rise of PMF's last year was noted by the RCMP, SET has been investigating the matter and were able to locate the source of the guns as part of their broader push to stomp out the illicit sale of drugs and influence of organized crime; thanks in part to vigilant community members. It's hard to quantify the impact this warrant execution will have on public safety within our community; but it's safe to say the impact will be profound".
Police say they have seen an increase in privately manufactured firearms, often referred to as PMFs, being seized in Fort St. John since late 2025. RCMP noted that some of these firearms can resemble toys despite being fully functional weapons.
The man was later released as the investigation continues.
RCMP say they are still preparing disclosure for Crown counsel and expect a number of serious charges will be recommended to the BC Prosecution Service.
