Paying it Forward was the theme of the 2025 Smile Cookie Week in Fort St. John, which reportedly raised more than $32,000.
This initiative brought the community together through thousands of cookies that were shared across non-profits, local businesses, and schools.
2025 saw the creation of the first giant cookie which was auctioned off for a donation of $250 to the FSJ Hospital Foundation by Tyler Smook.
Smile Cookie Week has become more than a fundraiser for the local hospital, it has become a movement thanks to the generosity of local partners.
Students at North Peace Secondary School and the Energetic Learning Centre were delivered Smile Cookies from GFL Environmental, while ARC Resources spread smiles to the Robert Ogilvie Elementary School staff and students.
Many School District 60 students and staff received smiles from Pembina, while Troyer Ventures LTD showed their support and sent cookies to CM Finch Elementary.
“We are incredibly proud of how our community came together this year,” said Kelly Amboe, Executive Director of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation. “Smile Cookie Week is about more than cookies—it’s about connection, compassion, and community. We’re grateful to everyone who helped make this year so special.”
The Pay it Forward theme was fully embraced by Tim Horton’s owners Ravi and Pallevi, whose generosity resulted in more than 3,000 Smile Cookies being distributed to non-profits, schools, and community members throughout the North Peace.
