RCMP arrest three individuals following fatal assault

A man has passed away following a fatal assault in Fort St. John on June 24Fort St. John RCMP were called to the 9900-block of 99 Avenue shortly after 6:42 p.m on June 24th following a reported assault.


Upon their arrival, frontline officers located a male that was unresponsive. Efforts to revive the man were unsuccessful, and he was declared deceased at the scene.The Fort St. John RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit, with support from the BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit, are investigating.

 

After an intense investigation involving the Fort St. John RCMP Frontline police officers, Serious Crimes Unit, RCMP Street Enforcement Team, BC RCMP North District General Investigations Section and the BC RCMP North District Major Crimes Unit, 3 suspects have been arrested.

 

Each of the suspects is facing the charge of manslaughter which has been approved by BC Crown Prosecution Service according to the media release.

 

“Our investigators worked tirelessly over the past few days to conduct a thorough investigation and arresting these three individuals,” said Corporal Paul Waterman, Fort St. John RCMP Serious Crimes Unit. “We believe this to be an isolated incident with no additional threat to the public.”
