Local students have qualified for the Skills Canada BC regional competition coming to Dawson Creek later this month.

Students from Alwin Holland Elementary, Taylor Elementary, and Robert Ogilvie Elementary placed high enough at a recent local spaghetti bridge competition, a qualifying event for regional Jr. Skills competitions, to qualify for Skills Canada BC Regionals later this month.
Competing at the local event for Alwin Holland was Riley Rivey and his teammate Logan who placed third, qualifying themselves alongside teams from Taylor and Robert Ogilvie Elementary to attend the regional competition.
Skills Canada BC hosts competitions at the regional level throughout the province annually. Students from junior and senior divisions compete in trade and technology related events including gravity vehicles, wind turbines, and of course spaghetti bridges. Skills Canada BC Regionals will be hosted in Dawson Creek later this month.
Qualifying teams from all over the Peace will be there to compete at the regional level in hopes of qualifying for Skills Canada BC’s provincial competition in April, and ultimately Canada’s National Competition later that year.
We wish the students the best of luck as they travel to Dawson Creek in February for the regional competition and invite everyone to come out and cheer them on.
