North Peace glory at 2025 World Jet Boat Championship

Engines thundered in Taylor, BC, as boat captain Gord Humphrey and navigator Jason Palfy tore up the river in their pursuit of championship glory.

North Peace jet boat Unnatural Disaster raced by Humphrey and Palfy, chased glory at the World Jet Boat Championship which recently wrapped up in Taylor, B.C, on June 29th at Peace Island Park.


The 2025 World Jet Boat Championships brought together top racers from across the globe, with teams representing countries like Mexico, New Zealand, and the United States.


The championship began on June 19th in Peace River, Alberta, eventually moving to Grande Prairie before finishing in Taylor, B.C.

 

Unnatural Disaster’s pilot Humphrey was awarded the championship title for the unlimited class a third time, and second year in a row for a world-class effort and overall time of 4:46:16 according to Jet Boat Racing Canada.

 

Unnatural Disaster wasn’t the only boat representing the North Peace as Trapper Wolsley skillfully piloted Leroy, finishing seventh in the CX Class with an overall time of 6:26:37.
