The FSJ Huskies kept their heads up and sticks on the ice throughout their NWJHL championship series against the La Crete Lumber Barons.

The Strike Group North West Junior Hockey League playoffs concluded on Saturday, March 29 in La Crete, with the Fort St. John Huskies winning the championship in six games over the Lumber Barons, sealing the title with a 5-3 victory.

While that series may be finished and wrapped up, the team must now prepare themselves for the 2025 Hockey Alberta Junior ‘B’ Provincials, which begins in a few days.

The Huskies are set to take on the champions from the North Eastern Alberta Junior ‘B’ Hockey League (NEAHL), the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL), Edmonton’s Capital Junior Hockey League (CJHL), and the Calgary Junior ‘B’ Hockey League (CJBHL).

The 2025 Hockey Alberta Provincial Tournament gets underway on Wednesday, April 3, with the Huskies taking on the Morinville Jets at 8:00 p.m. Mountain Time at the Morinville Arena.
