FSJ residents shaken after another shooting leaves one injured

The community is on edge following the recent shootings in Fort St. John, which has now resulted in an individual being shot.

The third shooting in a week has resulted with a single individual being shot on Wednesday, October 29, in the early hours of the morning.


A shooting was reported to the local RCMP on October 29th, just before 4am, while the BC Ambulance Service responded to the 9500 block of 96th Avenue following a report that an individual had been shot.

 

One person had been struck by the gunfire and was located by the RCMP following their swift response according to the release, while a second person was located and appeared to be unharmed.

 

The RCMP said witnesses claimed to hear numerous gunshots during the incident, and local traffic was blocked off while the police conducted their forensic examination.

There have been three shootings in the North Peace in the last week according to RCMP, with the first two resulting in the execution of search warrants and arrests.

The local RCMP continue to investigate these incidents and are asking anyone with information, doorbell cameras or dashcam footage to contact the Fort St. John RCMP at 250-787-8140.
