Woman arrested in connection with North Peace stabbing

A 28-year-old woman was arrested in connection to a stabbing in the North Peace which took place in a parking lot in Fort St. John.
RCMP says the incident occurred at approximately 1: 46 p.m. on Aug. 28, 2025, in the vicinity of 99 Avenue and 100 Street. Officers were called to attend to a report of a male who was stabbed in the chest and secured the scene.
The suspect was located and arrested approximately 10 minutes after officers were dispatched to the location. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“While the circumstances of this incident are very concerning and did draw the attention of the public, there is no ongoing risk to the public and the incident was between individuals who are known to each other,” said Constable Christiaan Dreyer, Media Relations Officer with the Fort St John RCMP.
Kayla Breeze Trudeau is known to local police and was held in custody for a bail hearing. She has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose according to the media release.
