Two arrested after truck rams cruiser near Dawson Creek

Sometime before 2: 30 a.m on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, an officer spotted a Dodge pickup truck driving on Highway 97 that was believed to be the stolen truck reported earlier. 


The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver sped away and turned down Mason Road.The Dawson Creek RCMP requested support from Fort St. John RCMP and the vehicle was subsequently located on Mason Road. 


It pulled over for a moment then proceeded to reverse quickly at high speed, running into the front of the police vehicle. The crash disabled the police unit, and the suspect vehicle fled the scene once again.

 

The vehicle was discovered in a wooded area off Mason Road, where it appeared efforts had been made to hide it using nearby vegetation according to the media release.


Two individuals were found with the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.

 

Suspects in the investigation, a Northwest Territories adult woman and man remain in custody at the time of writing and no injuries have been reported, but police have confirmed that gunshots were fired and that the vehicle was reported stolen.
