The first annual Summer Scrap Drive recently took place in the North Peace, raising an impressive $26,371 through the gathering of more than 200 tonnes of scrap metal.

This event included a public collection event which was held on September 14 at the North Peace Arena, organized in collaboration with ABC Recycling and the FSJ Hospital Foundation, as well as the City of FSJ’s yard waste drop-off.

Petronas stood out as the top contributor according to a media release from the FSJ Hospital Foundation, recycling more than $7,400 worth of scrap metal and earning the Bischoff Hat. Other honorable mentions included Strait Group, Windward Resources, and NorthRiver Midstream.

All funds raised were donated to the FSJ Hospital Foundation to aid in the purchase of medical equipment for the local hospital.
