Proof that small efforts add up, Fort St. John RCMP members turned a year’s worth of recycled bottles and cans into $670 for the North Peace Forgotten Felines Society.

The funds that were raised for  North Peace Forgotten Felines Society, collected by Detention Services Supervisor Jose Fornelli, will help support ongoing care for feral cats in the region.

The North Peace Forgotten Felines Society is a dedicated group of individuals who continue to volunteer to help the feral cat problem in our community according to their Facebook page.

They’re always recruiting volunteers who are able to help by providing feral cats a safe environment for recovery, assisting with reuniting possible lost cats with their owners, collecting donations and supplies or helping keep their social media page updated.

“I would like to send another Big Thank You to the Staff/Members at the FSJ RCMP Detachment for their amazing and kind donation of 670.00 to our kitties! I am forever grateful to receive this kindness from our community! Thank You all so much! Merry Christmas to each of you all,” posted Tricia Ouellette on Facebook.

Sacred Pet Healing and Wellness Spa also donated $250 earlier in December towards helping these cats get through the winter, and hopefully into their fur-ever home.

In a community where people often look out for each other, even simple efforts like recycling can make a lasting difference.
