Métis Nation British Columbia citizens will choose their next president this weekend, with four candidates on the ballot as MNBC prepares to hold its 2026 by-election on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Michael Dumont, Tony Goulet, Kyle Mitton and Anthony Wingham have all been properly nominated and verified by the Chief Electoral Officer, with their names appearing on the ballot for the position of MNBC president.
The by-election is being held to fill the president's position, along with any other Board of Director vacancies that may occur through resignations.
Eligible MNBC citizens 18 and older are encouraged to take part in the by-election, with ballots being accepted online or through the mail and online voting remaining open until 8 p.m. Pacific time on Aug. 22.
Online voting opened Aug. 8, while completed mail-in ballots must also be received by the Chief Electoral Officer no later than 8 p.m. Pacific time on election day in order to be counted.
The by-election results are expected to be announced following the vote, although MNBC's published election timeline currently lists the exact date for the results as still to be confirmed.
