A proposed location for a new aquatic’s facility is being discussed in the North Peace, following a signed letter of intent from the City of Fort St. John with XJ Evergreen Estate Corp.

The City of Fort St. John has taken another step toward building a new aquatics facility, signing a Letter of Intent with XJ Evergreen Estates Corp. to explore a potential site within the Parkwood Southlands development.
The proposed location, Lot 1, sits across from the Naache Commons development and Margaret “Ma” Murray Community School. The City says the site was selected for its convenient location, room to expand, and its ability to serve residents from all corners of the community according to the release.
“We’ve heard from residents that a new aquatics facility is a priority, and this proposed location is a strong step toward making that vision a reality,” stated Mayor Lilia Hansen in the release. “We’re grateful to XJ Evergreen Estates Corp for their willingness to explore the potential donation of this land and for partnering with the City to support this important project.”
“Parkwood is excited about this partnership with the City. We recognize the importance of building a healthy, connected and vibrant community. This project aligns with Parkwood’s commitment to a thoughtful, community-focused development and creates a legacy we can all be proud of,” shared Kris Wuthrich, Managing Director/Owner for XJ Evergreen Estates Corp.
The City plans to continue working closely with residents throughout the planning and design stages to ensure the new aquatics facility reflects the community’s needs, priorities, and long-term vision for Fort St. John.
