Fort St. John getting ready to celebrate some of its own

There are plenty of people doing good things around Fort St. John, and this weekend some of them will get a little time in the spotlight as the city hands out its 19th annual Community Awards.

This year's list includes 35 nominees from around the community, with individuals, businesses, organizations, volunteer groups and local clubs all recognized for the contribution they have made to life in Fort St. John.

The city says this year's nominees have helped make a positive impact through their talents, dedication and generosity, with the awards meant to recognize some of the people and groups who continue putting time into the community.

The winners will be announced from the Main Stage during the RE/MAX Moose FM Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 12, with the Community Awards ceremony getting underway at noon and giving Fort St. John a chance to celebrate the people behind the nominations.
