Drugs, cash seized after Chetwynd RCMP investigation
Chetwynd RCMP say an investigation that began mid September led to two search warrants being executed Sept. 19, with officers seizing suspected drugs, cash and a vehicle from two homes in the community.

Police searched residences in the 5100-block of 42 Street Northeast and the 4700-block of Wabi Crescent as part of the investigation.
Five adults were taken into custody while officers were at the two properties.
Four were later determined to have no involvement in the investigation, while the fifth person was released without process pending results from the National Laboratory and any future charge approval from the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.
Police say the searches turned up approximately $7,000 in cash, more than 10 grams of suspected cocaine, over 15 grams of suspected psilocybin, assorted prescription drugs and what RCMP described as drug trafficking paraphernalia.
A vehicle was also seized.
“This was excellent work undertaken by our constables. Their initiative and determination directly contribute to public safety by disrupting the drug trade and the harm it brings to our community,” states Corporal Bayden Austring, Operations Support Officer for Chetwynd RCMP.
The investigation remains ongoing.
