Dawson Creek death under investigation

On Monday, April 14, 2025, Dawson Creek RCMP discovered human remains.

The circumstances surrounding the death are considered suspicious, and E Division Major Crime has taken over the investigation.

“North District Major Crime investigators are working quickly to capture all available evidence,” said Superintendent Sanjaya Wijayakoon, of the BC RCMP Major Crime Unit. 

“Our teams will be there in the coming days and weeks, speaking to anyone with information to advance the investigation.”

The investigation is still in its initial stages, and no additional information is available currently, while further updates may be provided as the investigation progresses.
