Two Indigenous comedians are using laughter to spread a serious message throughout October, as they bring the Bad Apples Comedy Tour to communities across British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

Indigenous comedians Nelson Mayer and rising comedy talent Clayton T. Stewart are hitting the road this October with their Bad Apples Comedy Tour.

Communities across British Columbia, Yukon and the Northwest Territories can expect visits from the comedy duo including a stop at Dawson Creek’s Athens Grill & Bar on Oct 24, according to the media release.

“This tour isn’t just about telling jokes,” says Mayer in a media release. “It’s about showing how humor can break down walls, bring people together, and give voice to our shared experiences.”

Bad Apples will be using comedy in a non-traditional sense as the performances will also be highlighting a strong and important message about the power of resilience, reconciliation and laughter.

Mayer is a Winnipeg-born Indigenous comedian who has performed all over North America and Europe showcasing his unique blend of quick wit, down home stories and a cultural perspective that resonates with people all over the world.

A comedian with a reputation for being bold and fearless, Stewart brings a high energy style and a knack for razor-sharp, side-splitting observations that is the perfect match for Mayer on stage as part of The Bad Apples.

The tour, spanning 18 shows and hosted by the energetic Chris Basso, promises evenings filled with laughter, stories, and cultural connection according to the release.
