Assault leads to an arrest in the North Peace

A single individual finds themself in custody following an assault near the 259 rd.

Local RCMP were called around 8:30pm on Monday, December 9, to the 259 rd for a workplace injury where it was reported that an adult man had been injured after falling on a metal grate.

Police were immediately notified after the EMS arrived and noted that the injuries were injuries were consistent with sab wounds.

RCMP conducted an investigation which identified a suspect, who was then arrested for the aggravated assault.

The individuals involved are known to each other through work according to the media release, and the victim who was transported to the hospital was reported to be in stable condition.

The RCMP say there are no further details available at this time while the suspect remains in custody as the investigation continues.
