Drake Kerr was wanted for Second-Degree Murder in Mackenzie, BC, and was arrested by the Mackenzie RCMP on October 4.

“We are glad to report that Mr. Kerr is currently in police custody and will be held in custody to appear before the courts,” says Cpl. Brett Urano BC RCMP spokesperson.  “Kerr is in custody because of the hard work our officers and the public’s assistance in locating this man wanted for violent offences.”

A warrant for his arrest was issued after frontline police officers in Mackenzie responded to a call on September 29 of shots fired, where they entered a home and discovered a deceased male inside.

The death is considered an isolated incident, and investigators do not believe there is any ongoing threat to public safety.

“The North District Serious Crime and Mackenzie RCMP are grateful for the public’s assistance on this file. If you have any information regarding this file and have not yet spoken to investigators please contact the Mackenzie RCMP at 250-997-3288.”
