The 30th Anniversary Be an Angel Gala was held earlier this month, celebrating three decades of enhancing health care in the North Peace.

The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation's Be an Angel Gala was held on Saturday, November 2, and raised a generous $162,000 throughout the evening, while the Be an Angel Campaign’s goal is to raise $350,000.
30 years of enhancing health care in the North Peace were celebrated at this year’s Gala, which was held at the Ralph Pomeroy Ballroom.
The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation decorated the Ralph Pomeroy Ballroom with silvers, blues, and pearls representing the FSJ Hospital Foundation according to a media release.
The FSJ Hospital Foundation announced that Karen Sutherland was receiving this year’s Janet Taylor Award, before presenting a video that showcased some of her many moments of volunteering over the years.
The fundraising portion of the evening concluded with the live auctions final item, the “I Remember Quilt,” which received a closing bid of $25,000.
This one-of-a-kind quilt provides a heartfelt way to honor and preserve the memories of our departed loved ones. Patricia C.D. Smith’s name will be sewn into the quilt this year, serving as a timeless tribute to her cherished memory according to the media release. Throughout the year the quilt hangs outside the FSJ Hospital Foundation office
Her son David Smith was the winning bidder of the quilt, determined not to be outbid.
