The RCMP are requesting information regarding a severe assault that took place in Fort St. John on September 1.

The assault which took place close to the intersection of 99th Avenue and 98th Street was reported to the RCMP around 2:40pm.

A single male victim was located by frontline police who swiftly responded to the call. The individual was transported to the Fort St. John Hospital with serious injuries to be treated.

“Because this incident occurred in broad daylight, the Fort St John RCMP is requesting that if there were any passersby’s in the area at the time, who may be able to provide a statement about what they heard or saw happen, to call the RCMP,” said Constable Chad Neustaeter, Media Relations Officer for the Fort St. John RCMP. “Also, if there were any drivers in the area who may be able to provide dashcam footage of the area around that time, that could prove to be incredibly valuable.”

Local police continue to investigate this matter and are asking the public to contact the Fort St. John RCMP if you have any information.
